How I Facilitate Meditation and Why

People often ask why I guide meditation in a particular sequence. The answer is simple: each stage has a different purpose. Rather than trying to empty the mind or achieve a particular state, I gently guide people through a process that helps the nervous system settle, the brain become quieter, and awareness naturally deepen. Each meditation builds on the one before it, creating a safe and supportive journey inward.

You don't simply guide a relaxation, I intentionally move people through stages:

  • Settling the nervous system

  • Quieting the analytical mind

  • Deepening awareness

  • Guided inner exploration

  • Integration

Its a methodology and carefully selected words.

1. Mindfulness Meditation

Purpose: Calm the mind and develop present-moment awareness.

Mindfulness meditation is where every journey begins. By gently bringing your attention back to the breath or the present moment, the constant stream of thoughts begins to settle. This helps reduce mental chatter and creates the first shift away from the fast-paced thinking that dominates much of everyday life.

As the mind becomes calmer, many people experience an increase in relaxed alpha brainwave activity, which is associated with wakeful calmness and focused attention.

2. Body Scan Meditation

Purpose: Create safety within the body.

Once the mind has begun to settle, attention moves gently through the body. This practice helps release physical tension, improves body awareness and encourages the nervous system to move into a more restorative state.

Many people describe this as the point where they stop "thinking" meditation and begin to experience it.

3. Journey Meditation

Purpose: Develop deeper self-awareness.

Journey meditation combines deep relaxation with guided visualisation. Rather than simply relaxing, it creates space to explore your inner world through imagination, symbolism and intuition.

Depending on the intention, journey meditation may be:

  • Therapeutic – exploring emotional healing, limiting beliefs or the inner child.

  • Spiritual – connecting with personal meaning, higher guidance or a deeper sense of self.

  • Creative – accessing insight, imagination and inspiration.

Within the Seasonal Integration Method™, journey meditation supports the process of Awareness and Integration by helping people explore their inner experience with curiosity rather than judgement.

What People Experience

One of the comments I hear most often after a meditation is, "Your voice took me somewhere I've never been before." Others describe feeling deeply relaxed, unusually safe or able to switch off in a way they haven't experienced with other guided meditations.

Curious about these recurring comments, I had my speaking voice analysed. The analysis found that my natural vocal frequency centres around 144 Hz.

While there is currently no scientific consensus that a specific vocal frequency produces therapeutic effects, many people report finding my voice naturally calming and easy to follow. I believe this is influenced not only by its tone, but also by the pace, pauses, rhythm and intention behind the way I guide meditation.

Every meditation I create is designed to help the nervous system settle, quieten mental chatter and gently guide you into a state of deeper awareness. My voice is simply one part of that experience.

Every meditation is different because every person brings a different story. While everyone's journey is unique, these are some of the experiences people have shared after practising with me.

"I've tried meditation before, but this was completely different. I went deeper than I ever thought possible and came away feeling calmer than I have in years."

"Teanna has a way of making you feel completely safe. Her voice gently guides you into a place where real healing can begin."

"I didn't expect to feel emotional, but the journey meditation helped me understand something I'd been carrying for years."

"I've never been able to switch my mind off, yet somehow I felt completely present throughout the meditation."
"I have been meditating for years, but this was a completely different experience, I went down very quickly and too a much deeper level than I have ever been"

"I came feeling anxious and overwhelmed. During the body scan I noticed how tense I had been holding my shoulders without realising it. By the end of the journey meditation I felt lighter, calmer and more connected to myself. It wasn't that my problems disappeared—it was that I could see them more clearly without feeling consumed by them."

"I've meditated for years using apps, but I'd never experienced anything like this. I felt completely safe, and for the first time I reached a level of stillness I didn't know was possible."

"Your voice carried me somewhere I'd never been before. It felt effortless."
